Policy Setup (Time)
Time can be configured to enforce organizational policies, eliminating the need for an approver to review for policy compliance. Through these policies, Time can force a user to correct a timesheet, delete invalid time or explain certain entries.
Through policies, Time can also route timesheets that violate policy rules to special approvers.
Preliminary Steps
To simplify the process of creating policies, Time allows you to create groups that are not already defined in the standard structure based on:
- Time Codes
- Organization Structure
- Work Breakdown Structure (i.e. Project Structure)
This allows you to create a single rule based on one of these groups instead of being required to creating multiple policies for each individual member of the group. For example, you can create a group of departments and create a policy to apply only to those departments. Otherwise, you would have to create separate rules for each department.
Timesheets that violate a policy can also be automatically routed to a predetermined approver. An example could be that timesheet that uses the overtime time code is routed to the overtime approver
If a policy will be utilizing Groups or Policy Approval, they must be set up prior to creating the policy itself.
