Overtime Method Setup

In this section the Overtime Method can be assigned to certain groups of users by Organization structure and if a timesheet reporting period is not weekly, the week start day can be defined for weekly validation.

Click Overtime Method Setup

Click the Add button to add a new method

Name of the policy rule

Week Start

Select a day of the week for weekly overtime validation:

  • Any- if a timesheet period is already weekly and the week start is defined in the timesheet reporting period setup section

  • Sunday

  • Monday

  • Tuesday

  • Wednesday

  • Thursday

  • Friday

  • Saturday

Prorate Overtime

Utilized when overtime needs to be allocated across multiple projects.

For Example, if Yes is selected, following the guideline that overtime begins after 8 hours of regular time, if a user logs 6 hours on project1 and 4 hours on project2, using this option would result in 1.2 hours of overtime on project1 and 0.8 hours on project2.

Active

Indicates if the method is active

 

Click the Save button to save the method.

 

Click on the Rule Assignment tab

Click the Add button

In the New Rule Assignment pop-up window select the Policy No from the drop down list of options. In the drop down the list of existing policies will appear

Indicate a Sequence number to set a priority of each policy

Click Save to save the record

 

Click on the OBS Assignment tab

Click the Add button to set up assignments to the rule, this defines to which group(s) the overtime auto-computation applies to

The assignments can be set based on the following employee attributes:

  • Reporting Type

  • Employee Type

  • Location

  • Operating Unit

  • Department

  • Function

  • Part-Time

  • Exempt flag
