Timesheet Notes
Notes are used to explain specific entries on a timesheet. Depending on the configuration on Time, notes may be required for certain lines. Notes can be added for an entire line or specific dates within a timesheet line.
Viewing Timesheet Notes
- Clicking on the Notes tab  will display all of the notes added to the timesheet
- While in the Notes tab, clicking on any timesheet line will display only the notes associated with that line.
Adding a Note
- From the Timesheet tab , click on the  icon for the line you wish to add a note. Alternatively, you can also add a note via the Notes tab by clicking button after clicking on any timesheet line.
- Enter the note in the Notes pop up window.
- Identify the Start Date and End Date for which this note applies.
- Click SAVE & CLOSEÂ to add the note.
- The icon will change to .
Modifying a Note
- Find the note you wish to modify in the Notes tabÂ
- Click on the note icon on the line you would like to update the note.
- The timesheet notes will appear at the bottom of the pageÂ
- Click line associated to the note you would like to update
- Modify the note on the right side of the screen
- Click SAVE when you are done.
Deleting a Note
- Find the note you wish to delete in the Notes view.
- Click the delete  icon
- Confirm the deletion by clicking "Yes" in the dialogue box.
Daily NotesÂ
- To be prompted to add a note on a daily basis, click the box next to Daily NoteÂ
- When selecting the box to enter hours, a note box will appear
- Enter your note then click Save
- In version 8.2 and higher the daily note can be accessed within in the hour entry box . For versions below 8.2, the daily note can be viewed by selecting the Notes tab
Other Types of Notes
Depending on how your application is configured, other types of notes may be used or required.
- Correction Notes: If you make a change to a previously entered line, you may be prompted to enter an explanation
- Rejection Notes: Approvers may be asked to state the reason why a timesheet or line was rejected.
- Validation Errors & Warnings: If a timesheet or line fails validation, the admin may require an explanation for that policy violation.
