CC Template Setup

The purpose of a Credit Card Template set up is to define the format and the file structure of a credit card transaction data file that is being sent to DATABASICS by a credit card vendor or a bank. As a standard each credit card provider has a pre-defined file format that is being used in order to send the credit card transaction activity data. For example American Express uses a GL1025 file format, Visa users VISA VCF and MasterCard users CDF file formats, the corresponding templates are configured in DATABASICS to facilitate for the data import using these files. The files are typically sent daily and imported into DATABASICS so the corresponding credit card transaction can be made available to the end users to apply to their expense reports. This process is automated.

    • Single Template: All the information we load from the file is contained within a single line.
    • Line Sequence: This refers to the arrangement or order in which different lines of information appear within the CC file.
    • Fields: Data might appear on various lines in the file, and we must utilize specific fields to connect the data to a sub template. Example: In a VISA VCF file, additional transaction details (such as air passenger, car rental, hotel, etc.) can be extracted. The file contains a primary line with transaction information and additional lines with supplementary data. We use fields that match in both sets of lines to establish connections between them.
