Jira

In this tutorial, you learn how to integrate DATABASICS with Jira. Integrating DATABASICS with JIRA provides you with the ability to seamlessly populate data.

Prerequisites

To configure Jira integration with DATABASICS, you need the following items:

  • Jira account

Scenario description

In this tutorial, you configure and test Jira in a test environment.

Creating Jira API Token

  1. Login to Jira and access Account settings

     

  2. Next access the Security tab

  3. Next click the Create and manage API tokens

     

  4. Finally click Create API Token. Please be sure to give you token a useful name like ‘DATABASICS API Connection’. Please note that the API will only be visible during API token creation, so be sure to save it in a secure location.

Now that the token is created DATABASICS to pull data from Jira via a profile job execution.

Create a DATABASICS Remote Agent

  1. Login to DATABASICS with Administrator access

  2. From the Administrator menu expand Data Piping

  3. Expand Remote

  4. Select Remote Agent

  5. Click Add

  6. Enter all required fields

     

  7. Click Save

Create a DATABASICS Import Table

Import table definition will be based on desired fields to be pulled from Jira. Please contact DATABASICS support for more information.

Create a DATABASICS Profile

  1. From DATABASICS Admin menu expand Data Piping

  2. Select Profile Tasks

  3. Click Add

  4. Select the newly added profile, then select the Parameters tab

  5. Set Import Table List equal to the table setup in the import definition

  6. Set Remote Agent equal to the created Remote Agent

  7. Set Mini Service API Method equal to ‘getTickets'

  8. Set Mini Service API JSON Parameter equal to the Jira jql search (See image for example or go to Jira jql for more help)

     

  9. Click Save
