Jasper Role

Description

ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR

Administrators are able to create, edit, save and run reports. They can also manage the reports by restricting & assigning reports to certain users.

This only gives the user Admin privilege's to Jasper.

ROLE_USER

Users can only run reports. They will only be able to see the reports that an Admin has not restricted from them.

Disabled

Users with this option will not have access to the Jasper Reporting tool.

When an employee record is added to DATABASICS all users are set to a T&E Access. Make sure not to set the default T&E access role to be a Jasper Administrator. In most cases this is “Default Role” but may be different for each instance. If you are unsure, please contact the support team.

To set user folder permissions in Ad Hoc Repository refer to Ad Hoc Reports Permissions

Assigning Jasper Roles

Once the Jasper Role is set up, for those that need access to Jasper an DATABASICS administrator will need to assign the appropriate T&E Access.

  1. Go to Admin → Organization → Employee

  2. Pull up the employee profile and in the T&E Access field, update to the appropriate access.

  3. For the Jasper access to apply, the profile to add new users to Jasper has to be ran. This can be ran manually or it should be included in your schedule update that runs daily.

    1. Admin → Data Piping → All Profile Task → Add new users to Jasper Server → Run

  4. Once you have access, on your DATABASICS homepage you should have the “Ad Hoc Reports” option on the left side.
