In this section the Overtime Method can be assigned to certain groups of users by Organization structure and if a timesheet reporting period is not weekly, the week start day can be defined for weekly validation.

Week Start | Select a day of the week for weekly overtime validation:
|
Prorate Overtime | Utilized when overtime needs to be allocated across multiple projects. For Example, if Yes is selected, following the guideline that overtime begins after 8 hours of regular time, if a user logs 6 hours on project1 and 4 hours on project2, using this option would result in 1.2 hours of overtime on project1 and 0.8 hours on project2. |
Minimum hours between shifts Minimum minutes between shifts | The minimum hours and minimum minutes between shifts field is used to determine if a break in a worker's shift is considered a new shift or part of the same shift. This field can be configured to any value, such as 0 hours 20 minutes. If at least one of these parameters is set to a non-zero value, it means that the system will consider the worker's time as being part of a shift. For example, if a worker clocks in at 5:00 PM, clocks out at 12:00 AM, and then clocks back in 15 minutes later, the system will consider this as a single shift as long as the minimum minutes between shifts is set to 20 minutes or more. However, if the minimum minutes between shifts was set to 10 minutes, the system would consider this as two separate shifts. |

Please note that there are three exceptions to the Minimum Hours/Minimum Minutes between shifts field
If at least one entry in the timesheet does not have a clock in and clock out or time in a and time out time, the overtime will be calculated based on daily periods rather than shifts. This is because without the clock in and clock out or time in and time out times, the system cannot determine the shift details.
If the work spans across multiple periods, such as starting on Monday at 5pm (end of the current period) and ending on Tuesday (the start of the next period) at 7am, the system will consider this as two separate days rather than one shift. This is to avoid any overlap between timesheets for consecutive days.
If the overtime is set to be calculated by shift, the consecutive days option will not be applied. This is because the consecutive days option only works when overtime is calculated based on the day, not the shift.
