How to setup a DATABASICS App as a Shared Device for Time Clock

In order to set up the shared device before downloading a DATABASICS app, the following configuration must be completed through the administrator setup Shared Device Setup and Clock Assignment, once these configuration steps have been completed, the DATABASICS app will need to be downloaded.

If the DATABASICS App is already Installed on the tablet that you want to switch to the shared device mode, please start from step 1, otherwise go to step 2 after you have downloaded the DATABASICS App:

On the tablet you would need to Clear Cache Only for the DATABASICS App:

Go to Settings
Click on Apps.
Locate the DATABASICS app in Apps and click it.
Click on Storage & Cache.
You will find an option to Clear Cache. Please go ahead and click it.

Start DATABASICS App and it will ask you to provide an email address, please reach out to DATABASICS support at support@data-basics.com to obtain the email address and the activation code:

Enter these details in the mobile app for registration when prompted.

Once you have activated the app, you will asked to provide the login and password, it is important that ONLY at the first log in the shared device user ID and password are used. This will flag the device as shared. For the share device login ID and password, please reach out to support@data-basics.com

Once logged in as the shared device user with the login user from step 3, please log out from the device and force to close the app and open it again you will see the login page with no option to Remember Me. Here is an example

This is a one-time setup for all tablets – the tablet will be registered as a shared device and will be ready to use across various users.
